This was a picture taken on the beach of an activity where steel wool is ignited using a flame, battery, and a string, creating a firework like display.
Taken at midnight on Charleston's famous Sullivan's Island beach on the night of a full moon. The stars and moon lit up the whole beach that night which I captured using a long shutter speed, displaying the silhouettes of beachgoers.

Swinging a lit piece of steel wool, Todd Hollowell generates a spiral of sparkling embers that are emitted from the flame. "Last fall was the first time I ever tried playing with steel wool. You need steel wool, a string, a battery, a flame, and place with no grass for safety reasons. I usually go to the beach to make sure nothing catches on fire," Hollowell said.
This picture was taken in the Charleston Harbor, displaying the ports you can often hear day and night as ships are loaded and unloaded.
